Trisha
O’Keefe’s two thrillers Poseidon’s Eye and Magi’s
have been acquired by Jabari & Jaser!
Poseidon’s
Eye, a fast-paced
thriller of global proportions.
Alex Carreras
had it all – a position with a prestigious law firm, an engagement to the
boss’s daughter, a budding political career – until he stops to help a girl in
a battered Chevy van. Overnight, life as he knew it vanishes as he
is blamed for her murder. He comes to the realization that by rising too far
too fast he has made enemies along the way.
Carreras had discovered shipments of
armaments labeled as domestic chemicals to foreign buyers. Having reported the
discrepancies to his superiors in the law firm, he had been replaced on the
lucrative account and then stumbled upon Poseidon’s Eye, an advanced missile
guidance system, sold to the Chinese.
The death of the girl was only the
beginning for him, but could be the end for everyone.
Magi’s
Well
Trevellan
Evans, an Archeology and English instructor, is living and working in Cairo,
Egypt. Anticipating the Persid and Leonid meteor showers, she and her colleague
travel to the deep desert to Wadi Abou Serga for observations and discover Magi’s
Well and an unmarked, forgotten tomb — keeping the information to themselves.
Upon
returning, she volunteers to work an excavation and witnesses the murder of
world-renowned astronomer, Helmut Kleinhof, whose research she was following
when she stumbled upon the well and the tomb. Inspector Riad Hassan of Cairo
Securitie warns her she might be the killer’s next target as she knew nearly as
much as Kleinhof.
Trevy’s
deductive reasoning and insatiable desire for the truth unearths much more than
hieroglyphics and artifacts; something many would die for, and do.
O’Keefe’s knowledge, experience and solid grasp of
the language and people of the area make this ever so realistic; especially
with what is happening in the Middle East at this time.
Her first novel, Hanahatchee (Deer Hawk Publishing,
2012), is based on a true story
in which she brings the tale of murder, mystery, and magic to life. Follow the
steps Jordan Tanner took to reveal the real killer and bring injustice to
light.
After traveling and studying abroad for fourteen
years, which included living in Cairo, Egypt, O’Keefe returned home to the
States where she enrolled in graduate school to continue her work in
alternative healing traditions. Finally, in response to her mother’s question,
“What are you going to do for a living?” the author took a teaching job. For
her literature students, she wrote a book on William Shakespeare, The Bard Rocks, published in 2006
by KIB Publications. O’Keefe lives in Georgia where she teaches and, of course,
writes mystery/thrillers.
