Bouvoir, Jefferson Davis’ Historic Home Site
Thomas E. Simmons, author of Forgotten
Heroes of World War II: Personal Accounts of Ordinary Soldiers Land, Sea and
Air, was the keynote speaker for the reenactment
of WWII’s 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge which took
place in the Ardennes region of Belgium. He presented five certificates of
honor, four posthumously to family members—one being to Knox White (Chapter Ten,
“The Last Blitzkreig”)—and one to honoree, Harry Bell (Chapter Nine, “Present and
Accounted For”). There was much appreciation
expressed. Then the re-enactors put on a realistic battle. http://www.beauvoir.org/events/ www.thomasesimmons.net
