The Native American on the cover of James “Pep” Washburn’s novel, Touching
Spirit: Letters of Minominike, is Agoyo-tsa (Star White). He is from
the Santa Clara Pueblo located in north central New Mexico. Santa Clara Pueblo
was one of the Pueblo Indian people's communities. The photo was taken by
Edward Sheriff Curtis in 1908.
