Sandra Page, author of Pyramid of the Lost World,
will be signing her mid-grade novel @ “Meet the Local Authors,” (St Simons
Island Literary Guild), Sunday, Oct. 5th, 1-5 pm at the Casino Pavilion by the
St. Simons Island Library in The Village overlooking the St. Simons Sound. The inaugural
event is for local authors only. Page is a resident of Sea Island, a private
resort island adjacent to and accessed only by St. Simons.
Pyramid of the Lost World was a top
twenty finalist for the 2009 Bloom Award and Page was Georgia Author of the
Year — Children’s Books 2013.
Page proposes a series of Carly Sullivan archaeological
adventures at fascinating sites around the world. Page’s daughter is an archaeologist who helps
ensure the accuracy of the scientific details.
Page has an M.A. in history and has wanted to write a novel about the
Maya since first encountering them when she was nine years old.
She is currently working on the sequel, Island
of the Lost World. “I've started
the research and the writing for the new Carly novel set at a Minoan
archaeological site on Santorini, an island much like the one in Mama Mia. Gorgeous water &
scenery, interesting themes--oracles, snake goddesses, secret cults, murder.
Some of the pieces of the plot are in place, but much remains hidden.
That's the fun of the creative process!”www.sandrapage.com Published by Brandylane Publishing www.brandylanepublishers.com
